Questions
Before you send it through.
Yes. Asbestos removal sits alongside demolition, strip-outs and excavation as one of our core services, so you are not chasing a separate contractor halfway through the job. Bonded material is contained and removed under controlled conditions and disposed of at a licensed facility. Talk to us about what has been identified on your site and we will tell you straight what is involved.
Almost always, yes. Demolition in Victoria generally needs a building permit, and depending on the age and type of the building your council may also require a report and consent under Section 29A of the Building Act. We offer a demolition permit service and can handle that side for you, or work alongside the building surveyor you have already engaged.
Most standard single-storey homes come down in a day or two once services are disconnected and permits are in hand. Clearing the block, removing the slab and footings and carting everything away usually adds another day or so. Bigger commercial jobs and staged strip-outs are quoted on the program that suits your site.
Yes. Concrete demolition is a service in its own right for us — slabs, driveways, footings, paths and retaining walls all come out and get carted away. If you want the block handed back level and ready for the next trade, say so up front and we will price it that way.
As much as possible is separated rather than buried. Structural steel, roof sheeting and scrap metal are pulled out and sent for recycling, concrete and brick go for crushing, and only what is left over goes to landfill. It is better for the job cost and better for the tip fees.
